3D Printing

3D printing has become a critical step in the process from concept idea to design through to prototyping and manufacture.

Sapphire Scientific Engineering have cost effective traditional Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printers & also utilise high-end Formlabs high quality resin type 3D printers. This enables us to cut down time-to market on new products and identify potential issues prior to approval for manufacture of final tooling or components.

Having both types of 3D printing capabilities at hand allows us to prototype many types of components and devices – often in very similar materials to the final product. In the case of resin 3D printing, the ability to produce fine detail is far superior to the traditional FDM layered prints, giving much better finish & detail which also lends itself to demonstration of component capabilities such as operational clips, latches and threads.
